The Burren - Somerville, MA (7.5/10)
So, here is our first review. Obviously it happened before the big shutdown due to the coronavirus.
Place: The Burren in Somerville, MA. An old time Irish pub that her been around for a very long time. An Institution for those who want a good pour for a Guinness, some bangers and mash and listen to some hometown Irish music. They also serve a burger. Nothing fancy about it. You can get it with LTO (Lettuce, tomato and onion), mushrooms and bacon. Good steak fries on the side. How can you go wrong?
My daughter, Nora (the other burger lover in the family) and I went to The Burren on Feb 7, 2020 for lunch. My burger had LTO and mushrooms and steak fries. My daughter (the purist) had hers with just cheese and sweet potato fries.
Overall, the my burger was not bad. A tad dry and could use a little more salt. Good fires, could be a little crispier. Nora’s burger was good too, but the cheese was not totally melted. She loved the Chipotle mayo with the sweet potato fries. Would we go back there again…definitely. It may not be the finest burger, but the atmosphere makes up for it.
I give it a 7/10
Nora 8/10
